2026-2027 Welcome Back Message

As we wrap up our first week of the 2026–2027 school year, we want to take a moment to welcome our students, families, and staff to another great year at Eaton School District! In this welcome message, Superintendent Todd Cordrey highlights our strong and supportive community, discusses district goals for the year ahead and shares information about the Mill Levy Override. We’ve had a great start to the school year, and we’re excited for all that’s ahead!

hello eaten red families this is Todd cordry superintendent for Eaton School District with a welcome message for all of you thank you all for joining us back for another great school year this summer was a challenging summer and challenging Summers showed that we have a strong supportive Community strong supportive communities like ours build Great Schools so I thank you for your support and I also want to share with you our upcoming goals for this school year number 1 our overarching goals to go from accredited to accredited with distinction by the Colorado Department of Education that is a designation for only 8% of the school districts and that's something we need to be because we are just that talented with excellent Reds fabulous teachers wonderful families and very talented staff at every level the 5 sub goals that support that is number 1 connection and belonging are elementary schools are still doing excellent work with Leader in Me our secondary schools are award-winning showcase schools with capturing kids Hearts by working through those programs our kids feel a sense of belonging in schools and we know when they feel belonging they can Excel our second goal is adequately yearly growth adequate yearly growth is all about that academic growth of our students and we're seeing really strong academic growth for all of our students in all 5 schools and we want to continue to do that our third goal is transparency and communication our website's been updated and we are committed to being fully transparent and fully accessible to you our fourth goal is Portrait of a red this is a goal where we Define exactly what the 13-year Journey For Students look like from kindergarten through 12th grade grade and all the skills that social emotional skills as well as the academic skills and the career ready skills that they're going to need to be successful adults the final goal is the master growth planning we want to ensure that our facilities are the best our curriculum is the most accurate enough to date and that we're ready for kids 5 years 10 years and 15 years into the future our upcoming events this year start with next week next Wednesday at the high school from 5:30 to 7:00 we have a special National presentation called protect young eyes this is a program about technology and detrimental mental health effects it has on our students all parents are welcome they'll be free food for everybody and we'll have child care for ages 5 through 14 we'll be showing them a movie in the Auditorium while the parents get the training the next thing I wanted to talk with you about is our Mill Levy override on our website we have a lot of great factual information the target of the mill Levy override is to make sure our salaries are competitive with our neighboring school districts so that we can recruit and retain the very best teachers for our students it will also increase our CTE programming so that our kids when they leave High School will have the career skills to go straight into the workforce if that's what they want to do whether it's welding or health care or agriculture or so many great opportunities and and then the final purpose of the mill Levy override is to make sure we have a dedicated funding stream for our school resource officers safe schools are great for kids and staff we know they do their best work when they feel safe and then finally I wanted to thank you for your trust in Eaton School District we are here to do our best and we are doing a great job for your kids I wanted you to know we have great Professionals in every position and we had very talented leaders at every school if there's anything you ever need to know or want to know about the school district I'm always available to you please come by or call me I look forward to meeting with you and I look forward to a great school year thank you all so much for all you do go red
