Power Restored in All Schools
All Eaton School District Schools have power and are heating up, ready for students to return tomorrow, Tuesday January 27th. Crews worked this morning to repair the equipment that caused the power outage. According to Xcel Energy, at around 1:50am early Monday morning, a crossing arm broke on the main feeder along Collins Street just south of the high school and east of the roundabout on Weld County Road 35. When that arm broke it fell and brought down a span of wire that resulted in the outage impacting roughly 1600 customers in Eaton. The operations team at Xcel Energy believe that because of the extreme cold the arm supporting the wire snapped, unfortunately. We are grateful for the collaboration with local agencies who worked quickly to get our schools power back. Thank you to our community, parents and families for their understanding and patience!
